Our Environment The Montessori environment is child centered and designed to facilitate maximum independent learning and exploration by each child at their own pace. |
Our Evaluation MethodsA Small School for Great Programs...Our Programs | Montessori Areas of Study | Evaluation Methods Evaluation Methods for Montessori student are different than those of traditional educational institutions. Casa EvaluationsThere are no grades given to the Casa students in the form of a report card. Each child's assessment is based on the individual portfolio created by the child and his/her teacher's observation and record keeping. Elementary EvaluationsThe Elementary students receive three report cards a year, a November Parent-Teacher Interview and there is also an optional Spring Interview. The Parent-Teacher RelationshipKeeping parents informed to their child's progress is very important to us. We encourage a strong parent-teacher relationship to maximize all the positive aspects of the child's school experience. Parent Nights are organized throughtout the year to privide the parents with information about the Montessori curriculum, materials and activities in the classroom. Observations and InterviewsTwice a year, parents are invited into the classroom to observe their children while they work followed by an informal Parent-Teacher Interview. Code of Behavior
